night lights.

{Friday night in Gastown}

There is something extra special about pretty street lights at night…  Gastown’s old fashioned street lights stole my heart last weekend so I’ll be paying extra attention to all the sparkling lights this weekend (especially since there are so many holiday lights out now!). Hope you catch a glimpse of something special too!!

piazza san marco.

Other than the little ally ways and canals, the Piazza San Marco was quintessentially Venice to me. We spent a good amount of our trip there shopping, enjoying the architecture, and feeding the pigeons. Even though it was definitely the most crowded area of Venice it was the area I remember most. These photos don’t do it justice but I hope you can tell why I was smitten…

games.

{the game if life- one of my favorites}

A while ago we did dinner and a game night with another couple. It made me so happy that I decided I need more games in my life and I think it’s time to incorporate them into more weekends. I hope you all find something that makes your weekend a little more fun! xx

leaves.

{shirt: old navy, skirt & socks: forever21, boots: tj maxx, bag: dooney & bourke}

Fall is in full swing and I am totally inspired by the leaves. I have even been wearing a lot of brown, red, and orange… I didn’t notice until my husband pointed out the fact that I had worn orange three days in a row. My thinking is- if you like it, wear it! So that’s what I have been doing. Plus, who doesn’t love playing in leaves- it’s so quintessentially fall!

drinks that sparkle.

Since I am one of those people who think presentation is everything I am always looking to make simple things a little more special. I love girls day with some of the other animation wives here in Vancouver and I decided to try some DYI projects to keep things fresh. Also, since I got Mrs. Lilians cocktail swatchbook I have become infatuated with drink stirrers. They are a simple way to make even lemonade or iced tea a little more festive!

{I chose gold & silver glitter paper and a circle punch but you could use countless different papers and shaped punches for this}

{once you have all your shapes punched out start gluing them on to the sticks- I used wood coffee stirrers}

{then glue another to the back- this is why I chose circles, they are easy to line up}

{ and lastly, press them together to make sure they won’t come apart}

fall favorites.

{AMAZING tree near Coal Harbour}

Even though I’m not a fan of cold weather, I do enjoy the briskness of a nice fall day. Pumpkin flavored everything, pretty leaves, cozy sweaters, and of course some of my favorite holidays (which means some serious baking) make up my fall favorites. Since last year was my first fall in Vancouver I wasn’t really sure what to expect. This year, however, I know to take full advantage of this season and not let it fade away without my enjoyment of those little things that make it so special.
