A few weeks ago while I was out running errands I stumbled upon a few side walks with special little reminders on them. It definitely brought a smile to my face so I thought maybe it could bring one to yours today. xx
While on our tip, we decided to duck into one of the museums during a rainy day. I was actually pretty excited because my glass curiosity has continued to grow immensely since visiting Murano Island in Italy (see that post here). I was totally blown away by this exhibit. Dale Chihuly has created so many different glass pieces ranging from chandeliers to garden flowers. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip so I thought it deserved it’s very own post!
While I was on my little blogging hiatus my husband and I made a quick weekend trip down to Seattle Washington. To be honest I didn’t really know what to expect… I now know I am a fan of the city. They seem to have a perfect mixture of what I love about Vancouver BC and what I love about the US. All in all it was a great trip filled with lots of sights, shopping and food.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope you all had a sweet and lovely day! xx
My birthday was on Saturday and it was just amazing. My husband went above and beyond, I feel so lucky to have such an amazing person in my life. He made the whole weekend absolutely perfect! He totally surprised me with a little blue box… After he gave me my card and a few little gifts he told me to go get ready to go and when I came out of the bedroom there was a little Tiffany’s bag right there. Beyond sweet.
There is something extra special about pretty street lights at night… Gastown’s old fashioned street lights stole my heart last weekend so I’ll be paying extra attention to all the sparkling lights this weekend (especially since there are so many holiday lights out now!). Hope you catch a glimpse of something special too!!
The temperatures have been getting cooler and cooler so extra layers have been added and the scarves, hats, and gloves have all been pulled out and put on show. I thought I would go ahead and share a few things that have been on heavy rotation. I have found it increasingly difficult to do any kind of outfit photos lately due to the weather and the fact that my husband/photographer has been working crazy hours. Please forgive me while I get back on track with those things. Anyway, since moving to Vancouver I have learned to never leave the house without an umbrella or a pair of gloves in the winter. This year has been a little less intense for the simple fact that I knew what was coming and was thoroughly prepared! Plus, my collection of scarves has almost doubled!!
Life has been going a mile a minute lately so I thought I would slow down a little to appreciate some simple things keeping me happy.
I’m not sure how to even start this post… mostly because all I can really say is- this post is solely about the food I ate in Venice. I thought it was so good that it deserved it’s very own post, so here it is! All of the amazing food I got to eat while on my trip. I enjoyed it way to much and I love how uncomplicated Italian food is. The flavors are simple and fresh but I think that’s what makes it so delicious. Uncomplicated cuisine is sometimes the best. I loved every meal we ate and the ambiance at those little restaurants tucked in the allies and canals made things even more memorable.
