game day.

Since collage football season is upon us and I’m such an avid fan I figured I would share my favorite game day outfit. In the south, football season is serious business! Most girls wear their best team colored dresses and shoes topped off with their pearls of course- and that’s just fine by me but I have always been a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl when it comes to game day attire. I root for two teams, South Carolina (since I attended school there) and Florida (since that’s where my parents attended). One of my favorite things to wear is a vintage or vintage inspired t-shirt. I don’t know what it is but it just feels right wearing something a little old school. Other than that I try to keep things simple by adding a blazer and a great pair of shoes. I’d love to know what your game day go-to is!

Sorry for my absence the past few days… I spent all day on Tuesday traveling home to Georgia. It was a long, long day but I’m happy to be back in the south wearing jean shorts and flip-flops. The “lowcountry” welcomed me home with warm weather, plenty of humidity, and all my favorite comfort foods!

summertime in a glass.

I hardly ever drink, but on those special occasions when I do it tends to be the no alcohol tasting drinks. In the south sweet tea is a staple so with my southern background I was introduced to sweet tea vodka a while ago. I know what you’re thinking… Crazy southerners, but hear me out. Not only does sweet tea vodka sound appealing (to those below the mason-dixon line) It really is perfect for a summertime cocktail. My favorite concoction is sweet tea vodka, lemonade, and a splash of snapple peach tea.

As an ode to Savannah, the place that introduced me to this fabulous libation, I must say thank you.

these orange azaleas are my personal favorite

The flowers are in full bloom here in Savannah and I cant help but feel happy. I spent most of the day running errands downtown and taking in all things spring time in Savannah. The azaleas are so beautiful I don’t know if my pictures do them justice. The colors make me feel like dressing to match them and I forgot how a brightly colored flower can change your entire mood.  The weather is perfect and with everything so full and colorful all I want to do is get a cold drink and stroll through the parks and squares. The south has officially woken up and the tourists are buzzing around taking full advantage of this magical time and I intend to do the same.
